Security By Design
Involvement
This project included the design of the Courts building security
system consisting of access control, alarm monitoring, CCTV,
intercom, glass break detection, audio surveillance of garage
and stairwells, fire alarm and computer room alarm monitoring,
a fiber optic communications network, and a 24 hour central
monitoring station, including separate equipment and UPS rooms.
Of Special Interest
The requirement for a dual file server system, with a common
but partitioned database, is an additional feature on this
project. This allows for both stand-alone system operation
and an automatic vectoring of alarms to the secondary file
server. This secondary server is located in the Capitol Police
Operations Center and will eventually provide monitoring functions
for 40 or more state buildings.
