Security By Design Involvement

Developed a complete security system for the new Richmond Bio-Laboratory and Research Facility (Ortho Research Division). The system included access control, closed circuit television, intercom, and a small control room with a separate reception desk combined with a security guard station.

Designed access control for all laboratory areas to limit access into all of the interior areas. As part of the alarm system, SBD designed a monitoring system to detect temperature variances inside the laboratory areas to detect any excessive temperatures that might threaten experiments in progress.

Added security into another Chevron environmental research facility that was located down the hill where the pesticide testing was conducted. This system included access control, and closed circuit television and was connected to the central system at the Bio-Laboratory facility.

Of Special Interest

In both areas, Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras were installed to observe all perimeter areas and fencing to detect intrusion. Access controlled vehicle gates were also monitored by video.
