| Description Of Site
Kaiser Permanente was established in 1933, and has grown to be America's largest not-for-profit health maintenance organization. We worked
with Kaiser at nine of their facilities in the Northern California Region over a span of 6 years.
Security By Design Involvement
In 1991, Kaiser asked us to develop a Conceptual Security Plan for the Northern California facilities. Special studies were provided for
Santa Rosa, Hayward, Oakland, San Francisco, and Vacaville facilities.
Emergency Department Vulnerability Assessments were completed which included interviewing a cross section of staff members, including doctors,
nurses, and receptionists to determine the most immediate vulnerabilities they were encountering.

An Infant Care Study of available devices for infant protection for all hospitals was completed followed by the selection of devices, which was
introduced to all the Northern California Hospitals. We provided assistance with a study and report in preparation of JACO inspections and
developed questions and checked references of their guard program to help with NPA Qualifications.
Of Special Interest
Of special interest is the implementation of a Security System Maintenance Service Contract Agreement for the Northern California Region hospitals.
This agreement allowed for the unification, conformity, and quality of the service agreement - which built a firm infrastructure for monitoring the
region's buildings.
