Oracle Corporation Headquarters in Redwood Shores, California, is a picturesque site on the San Francisco
peninsula. Their campus is comprised of several buildings and freestanding garages that border a lake.

Security By Design Involvement
Security By Design was hired to develop a Security Plan for the existing buildings and parking garages in 1989.
By 1990 SBD was selected to provide the general consulting support to orchestrate the security for the new
Headquarters Buildings that were to be built on Oracle Parkway. SBD incorporated the management philosophy of
Oracle into their design. Included in the project was the relocation of the computer room that housed over 40
different manufacturer's platforms. In addition to the security systems, SBD designed the Fire alarm and suppression
systems, EPO (Emergency Power Off), and the Computer Alarm Monitoring systems.
Of Special Interest
SBD was able to coordinate with the architects at a very early stage and to create an efficient space usage plan,
while providing flexible security. This was accomplished by an elevator and stairwell shift, which provided all
required legal egressing while allowing for an open plan office design. The result was a savings of up to 30
workstations per floor.
