UC Davis is among the most academically diverse of the nations leading public universities. The University's unique blending of research and service is demonstrated through numerous cooperative projects between the university, governmental agencies and private enterprise. The Contained Research Facility is a 40,000 square foot research facility with a 6,000 square foot planned expansion. The site includes laboratories and office space.

SBD provided security consulting services for the UC Davis Contained Research Facility including conceptual design, schematic design, and design development phases. The resulting design led to contract documents for access control and intercom systems. The project installation is scheduled to be completed in 2001.

Of Special Interest

This center is a highly controlled state-of-the-art environment that maintains a clean room atmosphere, due to the highly refined experimental work provided in the facility. The facility is at a much higher level of research than is normally done in a typical university laboratory setting.
