A new 270,000 square foot graduate school designed by PEI.COBB.FREED + Partners Architects at the UCLA campus. The facility consists of six buildings containing classrooms, offices, auditoriums, meeting rooms, library, and a three story atrium.

Designed the complete security system for the site which has a relatively open atmosphere during regular class hours with timed electronic locking of the perimeter during off-hours. SBD provided consulting services through five phases of design and construction and included conceptual design, schematic design, design development, contract documents, and construction support.

Security By Design provided full construction support during construction of the new facility which included testing of the installed equipment, reviewing bid submittals, and final sign-off.

Of Special Interest

Designs were created for electronic access control at selected perimeter doors and office suites and closed circuit television cameras and video recording at selected library exits to identify violators.
